Who are we
and what do we do?
You may have heard our music aired, for example, on the CeltCast radio (where our pagan folk take on the Croatian folk song, Naranča, made it to the October 2024 Monthly Markers).
Or, you may have noticed the darker ones in recent Vigor the game trailers (see the PC Full Release trailer or the Bloodline trailer).
Or, you may have discovered us in some Spotify playlist together with Faun, Omnia, Heilung, Eivør Pálsdóttir, Percival Schuttenbach and many others.

As for some basic info on us,
our band was founded in 2018 in Brno, Czechia, and currently has seven members. See us all here.
We play something that we call
witch folk,
and create and tell a story. Ironically enough, it’s a story of a misfortune demon who’s had quite some bad luck himself.
For promoters
Lichočar is a band for whenever you want something magical, fresh, and special.
As you can see below, we always try to create the right mood and atmosphere for the occasion. We are flexible and like to get it just right so that the audience leaves with the kind of experience and memories they’ve come for.
With our eerie tunes and multilingual lyrics in ancient or rare European languages, we can easily create an uncanny and darksome ambience. Or an enchanting one. Or we can leave the forest spirit masks and wreaths at home and make it simple and civil for once.
Or, if you want to go for a relaxed and dancing crowd, we can put on the step shoes instead. It’s up to you!
Our experience and technical info
- We’ve played at open-air festivals, in music clubs, or at small acoustic evenings.
- We use our in-ear monitoring system and bring our mics and pickups.
- A projection art recording may accompany our gig if you wish so.
